Reflections – December 2009

In December:

  • Rich’s cousin Ben and his lovely GF Jess came to stay and we ate muchos Mexican food.
  • I wrote my second essay for my OU course and got a 1:1 mark (woo!)
  • I met my friend Kirsty at the humongous Westfield Shopping Centre in London for some girl chat, lunch, Christmas shopping and more chat.
  • Our club had a super crafty secret santa gift exchange
  • Our company had its Christmas dinner at the Wykham Arms in Sibford Gower, Oxfordshire.
  • I got a Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer and it made me cry with joy.
  • Our good friends Jess and Toby had a little boy called Elijah.
  • We had Christmas Eve lunch with our friends in Solihull
  • We spent Christmas Day with Rich’s family in Solihull
  • We drove down to Wadebridge, Cornwall on Boxing Day to be with my family
  • Rich and I visited Tintagel, Port Isaac, Clovelly and Boscastle in two days.
  • We stopped in Ilfracombe, Devon for the  night on our way back home.
  • Sew Make Believe appeared in print.
  • We spent Christmas Eve at home with friends, playing Pictionary, listening to music, dancing and drinking champagne.

And that was 2009.

Reflections – November 2009

In November:

  • We went to see Lily Allen at the NIA in Birmingham.
  • I made Parkin.
  • I made another of my Lists of Many To-Dos.
  • Our club had a sock toy workshop.
  • I watched Being Human season 1 finally.
  • I learned some new things about Guy Fawkes.
  • I started my I Heart Tumblr feature which will be back in February.
  • I started my 20 second reviews feature – more of these coming soon until I have caught up with our current rentals.]
  • I started my Poll of the Week feature which will not be back due to the overwhelming lack of interest!
  • I went to see Annie on the stage with my good pal, Zoë.
  • My club went to the Vintage and Handmade Fair in Chipping Sodbury and I spent a fortune.
  • I wrote my first essay for my Children’s Literature module.
  • I got some craftin’ done.
  • I blogged everyday of the month for NaBloPoMo (hence the new regular features!).
  • Our good friends Claire and Neil had a baby boy called Riley (thanks for the kick, Claire!)
  • My friend Michelle had a baby boy, Henry.
  • Rich’s sister and her husband had a little girl, Poppy.

Reflections – October 2009

In October:

  • I got some new boots which I still love to bits.
  • I started watching Glee and I am so glad I did!
  • My super club went to the Rag Market in Birmingham.
  • I finally got round to repurposing my Batman t-shirt.
  • My cousin Stephen got married to Laura in the Peak District near Sheffield (and I bought a new dress for the wedding).
  • Rich and I visited Chatsworth.
  • I started my final module for my Literature degree with the Open University, a Children’s Literature course.
  • Rich and I visited our friends Jess and Toby in Westcliff – the last time we will see then as just the two of them.  Elijah Thomas was born in December (I can’t wait to meet him!).
  • Some of my club buddies came over to bake Halloween treats and carve pumpkins.
