My mum has high standards when it comes to her cup of tea. It must be made in a pot. This is something that I know at least one of my readers will appreciate! When Mum popped round last week after our baby shopping expedition (we were shopping for baby things, not for a baby!), I pointed out that as she was going to be coming round a lot more in the foreseeable future (what with Baby Girl arriving fairly soon), I really needed a Cornishware teapot so I could make her tea properly (with a teapot that matches the Cornishware mugs). I was, of course, joking – I didn’t expect her to provide her own teapot. Look what arrived at the office this morning:

Sold!
Time to cross fingers
We agreed a sale on our house last Friday! That led to a frantic weekend of second viewings, first viewings on properties new to the market and a LOT of discussion between ricardo and me. It all came down to two properties in the end – neither of which we had seen before – and we drove ourselves to distraction trying to choose between them. In the end, it came down to the area that each house was in and the one we chose is very well known to us. In fact it is 4 doors down the street! At first, I just couldn’t get excited about moving so close.
I am one of those people who actually really like change and this just seemed too near and too familiar. But once I thought about it in relation to the other option, I also realised it was safe, I had friends in the street (hi Nodster!), we had playgrounds, shops and doctors within walking distance… it all starting to make sense. Plus the house is pretty awesome. We are insanely excited to have a utility room! Our offer on this lovely house was accepted yesterday after a bit of wrangling and all that remains now is for the whole nightmare of conveyancing to go smoothly. Timing could not be worse as we are bound to be trying to complete on the property in November when I am due. Still, we are trying our best to keep positive and keep everything crossed for a smooth sale and purchase. We are totally nuts!
Liberty love

I love this idea – using embroidery hoops to showcase beautiful Liberty fabric to make a gorgeous wall display.
Tidy Little Craft Corner
Now the house is on the market, and the estate agent has keys to the house, we have to keep the house spick and span at all times and we also had to de-clutter the house within an inch of its life. My craft area in the front room was one of the bigger de-clutter jobs. I was dreading it because it meant putting away the majority of my craft supplies and equipment.
Part of the house de-clutter meant that I had to move the storage unit which I had by my bed for make-up/hair styling stuff. This storage seemed perfect for these select craft items and I knew it would fit discreetly under the craft table. The unit is a shoe rack from Homebase with 6 white baskets. I started by picking out the projects that I wanted to have to hand.
I stashed my embroidery threads jar and sundry notions jar in the first basket, the Halloween fabric I bought at the rag market last year (I still haven’t made anything but I will. Probably.) in the second basket. The third has my button jars and my crochet blanket squares and wool for the blanket I am making with my mum.
On the bottom shelf, I put the (unfinished) mini-quilt and some other Tilda fabric and pink felt for as-yet undecided nursery projects in one basket, the fabric / squares for Baby Girl’s quilt in another and then some pretty stationery and other gubbins in the last basket.
I also tidied up the shelf, inspiration board and desk top plus I finally put up the whatever clock. The funny thing is that I have done more crafting at my desk since the tidy up and I really love the easy access to my most important projects and supplies.
When (if) we move, I am definitely keep my craft area simple. All the bigger items like wadding can be stored in the fitted wardrobe or linen cupboard whilst the rest of my stash is in the garage and it can stay there until I need a new project. I can only make one or two things at the same time anyway so there is really no need to have everything to hand and the best thing is, it’s super easy to keep everything tidy.
