The Bright Side

I have been poorly sick all week and it’s getting really old. It’s the kind of sick that is icky, where you don’t want to eat and you can’t read for too long or concentrate or surf the internet.  Where your body aches like you have run a marathon where in reality you have layed in bed for hours on end. Where you feel sorry for yourself but don’t want any company either. Looking on the bright side though,  I have been able to watch a butt load of TV/DVDs:

  • I have finished Supernatural season 2 and watched the whole of season 3 so these can be crossed off my list.
  • I started recording Veronica Mars, having never seen it from the beginning and they had been piling up in my Sky + box.  I am digging it. Veronica is a pretty kick-ass.
  • I watched some old One Tree Hill. I was missing Jake.
  • Catching up with Friday Night Lights.  *spoiler!* Tim Riggins is just about to cross over to the chop-shop dark side with Billy and it’s making me sad.
  • American Idol is back and I am loving it as usual.  The auditions aren’t my favourite part (I only want to hear the good singers and none of the losers/freaks/sad stories). I do get chills when they are really good.
  • Home and Away is back too.  I probably watch 5 minutes out of every 25 minute show but I love it all the same.
  • I finished season 1 of Castle. It’s a pretty straight-forward procedural crime show with the added bonus of Nathan Fillion (He is Mal! and Captain Hammer! and Caleb!).  I am thinking this may well replace NCIS as my cop show fix.

I am going to bed now.  Please let me feel more human in the morning.  I will even give up my Dawson’s or Alias  fix that I have pencilled in.

A lot can happen in a month

So here we are in the new home and like all house moves, there has been a lot of packing up and organizing to do. I think I am about there though and do not fear, precious little of my TV viewing time has been affected. Since I last posted at my old blog, though, I have seen the last of some series which have been cancelled (Moonlight, Dirt), started watching old shows long since cancelled (Season 1 of Gilmore Girls and I love it) and finally started watching new seasons which have taken forever to air in the UK (hello, One Tree Hill. I have missed your fabulous ridiculousness.). I have so much to talk about, in fact, I will have to get cracking on writing some new posts!

Looking forward

to watching:

  • Thursday’s Studio 60 on the sunset strip
  • Tonight’s Robin hood
  • Next Thursday’s Men in Tree (Lynn Douchbag notwithstanding)
  • Wednesday’s Ugly Betty (Posh Spice!!!)
  • The rest of Angel Season 5 (Illyria! Werewolf girl! More Spike! Spike and Angel in Italy!)
  • More Dawson’s Creek season 4 (despite the carcrash prom episode which is looming)
  • Bones (DB)

Lows and Highs

There the low points to be sure:

Joey: I can’t do it, Pacey. I can’t give you a reason to stay. I have so much junk to work through I don’t even know where to begin to process it all. I mean, how I feel about you and how I feel about Dawson…
Pacey: So you made your choice. Right there you made your choice.
Joey: I guess I have.

Pacey: Yeah. That wasn’t so hard, was it? You should have made it months ago. Saved us all a lot of time and energy. And heart ache.
[...]
Pacey: Jo?
Joey: Yup?
Pacey: I don’t even get a goodbye?

GULP.

But then there’s the high points too :

Pacey: You want something, Jo?
Joey: I want to talk to you!
Pacey: No, nope. It’s a bit late for this now. I’m leaving, you can’t stop me, so don’t even try.
Joey: No, that’s not why I’m here.
Pacey: (climbs aboard True Love) So why are you here? Maybe you want to rub it in a little bit, huh? (he jumps off the boat and unties it from the dock)
Joey: Look, I don’t want to stop you, Pacey. And I don’t want to stop Dawson, and I don’t want to be stopped. Not by either of you, not by anyone. See, I mean, that’s what this whole year’s been about. We’ve been trying to stop each other from moving on and from growing up. But not you. You’re different. And you’ve challenged me every step of the way and you’ve been there every step of the way.
Pacey: (walking past her) Jo, departure time is in T-minus 30 seconds, so if there’s a point, I suggest you get to it. (he climbs back aboard. Joey thinks for a second, then turns around)
Joey: I think I’m in love with you.

That look on his face as she says it? Awesome.  This episode?  TV MAGIC.
