Hairy solution

While Evelina’s hair is coming along lovely at the back, she is still a little thin on top which is leading to a rather unfortunate Status Quo look. Thankfully, I have found the perfect solution:

Baby Bangs! Of course, I jest. I will not be buying one for these for Evelina even if the website does have the persuasive strap line ‘for the girl who has everything – except hair!’.  I kid you not. People buy wigs for their babies. I think this is even more nuts than kitty wigs

Dressmaking for baby

If you read my all five horizons blog, then you will know that I have been making Evelina’s Christening dress ready for her Baptism on Sunday at St. Margaret’s in Whitnash.  On Wednesday I managed to finish it with just a few days to spare!

We have decided to have a very small do – just immediate family and Evelina’s Godparents.  I am so pleased that the weather looks like it will behave although it does make the rather expensive furry cardigan I bought for Evelina seem a bit over-the-top!

Making her dress has given me a real taste for making clothes for Evelina so I am planning on choosing something to make from the book that my parents bought me for Christmas, Making Baby’s Clothes.

To see more of Evelina’s dress, mosey on over to sew make believe where I talk more about the process of making it.  There are also more picture on Flickr.

Evelina’s Nursery

It has taken longer than we had planned but at last, the nursery is how we want it.  I am so pleased with how it turned out.  My favourite part is definitely the bunting made by me and my sew make believe (with a special shout-out to Lysy who did a lot of cutting and sewing together of the triangles).
