5 simple pleasures
- Putting warm socks on cold feet;
- Putting the first dirty mug in an empty dishwasher;
- Waking up for just a moment hours before you need to get up;
- The first cup of tea in the morning (even better if it’s brought to me in bed);
- A free weekend.
5 things that have irritated me this week
- My shower gel which smells so sickly sweet it ruins my morning shower.
- Going for a jog for the first time in over a year only to get a blister after 4 minutes.
- Crumbs.
- The avocado which I wanted to eat for lunch today was not ripe despite packaging that assured ‘ripe and ready to eat’.
- Dust.
5 books I want to read but don’t own
- Saturday by Ian McEwan (although my mum has it so I can borrow)
- Bossypants by Tina Fey (I love her)
- Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman (thanks to Roisin’s blogpost and my aforementioned love of Tina Fey who wrote Mean Girls which was based on this book… if that makes sense?!)
- I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith (I loved reading The 101 Dalmations with my mum when I was little so have always been curious about this)
- Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling (I have a fresh conviction to read the rest of the series now that we have seen all the films so far released – I know this is the wrong way round but before now, I just could not muster the necessary enthusiasm. Also thanks to QI, I know now how to pronounce her name (like bowling, not howling… silly English language)
