Yesterday, we took Evelina swimming for the first time. We didn’t get any photos on account of us both being in the pool and our lack of under-water photography equipment! It went very well though, and we will definitely be taking her again. For the most part, Evelina either enjoyed it or was indifferent which we see as a win! There were only a couple of grumbles towards the end when she had been splahed a bit. I tried a quick dunking at the end – only for a second – and whilst she clearly didn’t like it, she didn’t cry either!
We went to the leisure pool at Newbold Comyn and it was plenty warm enough, especially for her with her little wet suit on. No other babies had these on so I am sure they are not essential but it gave us peace of mind, particularly when we got her out of the pool. We also realised on coming out of the pool that they had family changing rooms which allowed ricardo and I to get her (and ourselves) dried and dressed together which made the whole thing a lot easier.
I can’t wait for us to take Evelina to the beach when we go on holiday to Italy in July. Hopefully, she will like the sea as much as the pool!
