Today, Mum and I bought the rest of the wool for my baby blanket. At the sew make believe crochet workshop last Wednesday, Roisin showed us how to make this adorable granny squares and I wanted us to make a ton of these in different colours (although each one will be self-coloured) and sew them together. I went for some rich but muted colours which will hopefully be suitable for a boy or a girl. The teal has not come out very clearly. Here are some squares that Mum has made already:
I do plan on making at least a couple to go in the blanket although at the rate my mum is knocking these out, I suspect that she will be doing the lion’s share of the crochet work. Despite the number of other projects I want to do even before I add all the things I want to make for the baby, I know this will be one that I will be finding time for!

Your mum is clever, and it was excellent to meet her at the workshop! I’m so glad you’re enjoying crocheting also x
Great colours, they will make a fantastic blanket. I love that Snuggly yarn, I use it for all the baby knitting I do.
This is going to be so lovely – and a baby blanket your littl’un will be proud to snuggle up with, take to nursery, drag along on sleepovers and camping trips, and even pack for uni one day, knowing Mum and Grandma made it all for them… I’m getting all emotional!
There’s something very satisfying about working on a crafty project with your mum and this is definitely going to be a very special one! Congratulations again xx
Thanks all! Hopefully I can do my part justice! It will be nice to not have my course looming over my head so I can actually craft guilt-free!
How good is your Mum! What a gem – she was so lovely at the workshop, really nice to meet her. What an amazing Grandma she’ll be! Those are very neat squares, I am tres impressed
