So as not to bury the lead, let me start my returning post with some big news: we’re having a BABY! My little blogging break was largely because I was struggling to blog about daily minutiae without blabbing about this monumental news. I have waited until today to share this exciting news as we have just got back from my 12-week scan and everything is (so far) fine! We saw the little being inside me wave his (or her!) arm, we saw the heart beating, I cried and it was over all too quick but it was amazing at the same time. Here is our little one:
Don’t worry that’s not a horn growing out of the head! It’s a little hand waving about. And there are feet! And legs! And a head! And a nose!! Sorry, but I am just a little be overwhelmed by it all – this is INSIDE ME!
So there are more pictures but they do not look nearly as good scanned as they do in real life, and the image on the monitor was best of all. How much do you reckon ultra-sound monitors are to buy? Here they are in case you are interested!
So I am back blogging but I am not going to lie to you, there is going to be baby stuff going on here. I promise I will try to keep it down to a bearable torrent.

Kate, this is absolutely wonderful news!! I am so very happy for you and Rich! Caroline and I had a little chat about this (and obviously a read) over the weekend, and I have to say I think we fair gushed with excitement on your behalf!!!! It is brilliant! I bet your cheeks are staring to ache from all the ear-to-ear grinning you must be doing at the moment!
