Wow, this has been a painful one. After more than 6 months, I have finally finished the quilt I have been making to celebrate Mum and Dad’s 40th wedding anniversary. This is the secret sewing project I have mentioned a couple of times but for obvious reasons couldn’t really blog about.
I really didn’t like it for a long time which made it hard to work on. At one stage, I thought I was going to take it apart and start again or have to abandon it altogether. I am so glad I didn’t as I really like it now. The fabric is from a collection called Summer of Love so I named the quilt ‘Summer of 69′.
The quilt doubled as their main Christmas present (although it was not quite finished on Christmas Day).
I just needed to finish the binding (I cannot recommend using hair grips enough for when you are hand-sewing the back of the binding!):
