On our way back from the wedding on Sunday, we visited Chatsworth. It’s an amazing stately home, owned and lived in by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. It also played the role of Pemberley in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and The Duchess was filmed here (naturally, since it was about Georgiana, the Duchess of Devonshire).
There was a modern sculpture exhibition in the gardens which was fascinating – I loved seeing the old house and it’s beautiful Capability Brown park scattered with interesting modern art.
And inside the house, there was the usual ornate and historical artefacts as well as the sculpture gallery which I adored. We were most respectful of the art.

I was at Chatsworth the other week (my girlfriend lives near there)
Some of the outdoor artwork was bizaare, but loved the silver balls in the pond
Hi David! Yep they were fantastic.
