domestic goddess

I have had a lovely long weekend.  The weather was pretty good considering and we saw lots of people.  I also managed the following feats of domesticity:

  • baked TWO separate batches of chocolate chip cookies
  • made spicy parsnip soup
  • started hand-quilting the baby quilt
  • entertained four different sets of visitors
  • made chicken stock from a roast chicken carcass left over from Saturday’s dinner
  • knocked up some homemade houmous (effort vs taste did not tally, unfortunately)

No wonder I feel exhausted today.  Although that may have something to do with the day at Hatton Country World yesterday with my best friend’s family (including a five year old and two year old).

Find my niche? Such advice is gleefully ignored here where I spread the bookish, crafty, navel-gazing, teevee, mama love.
