So now I have watched American Idol top 36 Group 1 and rather than wait to see the results show which is always YAWNVILLE I looked online and was relieved with the result.

I am still sore that Jamal didn’t make it through, especially after some of the dire efforts that we were subjected to (I am talking to you Stephen Fowler).  In fact I thought the standard was particularly bad considering that there were some talented singers. Bad song choice, bad outfits, and bad arrangements all helped to drag down the contestants.   

All I can say is THANK GOD that Danny got through. It is hardly a surprise since he was clearly the strongest contestant. I don’t even like him just because he wife has died. I actually think he is good. Really good.

I am also VERY thankful that a ‘demure’ Tatiana (you could still see the batshit crazy behind the eyes) did not get through.  Whilst her voice was pretty good, she clearly looked like a changed woman (presumably having been suitably caned by her friends for her antics in Hollywood week).  My pick of Alexis was the girl to go through to the final 12 so I am doing well so far.  I had no clue about the third person to go through since most of the rest of the performances fell well short of expectations.  Whilst, I thought Michael Sarver’s cover of I don’t wanna be’ was pretty weak, he seems like a nice guy so I am prepared to give him another shot.  I seem to remember liking him perviously so let’s see.

Also? I got very excited to see Neil Patrick Harris, Ted Danson and Danny’s best friend, Jamal in the audience.

The next episode is on tongiht (this post is ru-eee-ly late in being published!).  I was going to look to see who was in that group but since it has already aired int eh US, I don’t want to find out who made it through before seeing the performances.
