Another one bites the dust

I have been quite dismayed at the paltry number of books I have read this year. This is my first full year without a 5 hour daily commute and it shows. I have asked for a reading light for Christmas since I often turn the light out earlier that I would like so that ricardo can get to sleep. Maybe this will mean I can read more since bedtime is really the only time I get to read now.

Atonement Atonement by Ian McEwan

rating: 5 of 5 stars
My initial reaction after finishing reading this book was to want to seek out every other novel written by Ian McEwan and devour them whole. I could not put this book down. The strong narrative voice, the incredible tension and a wonderful story. I finished reading this on the train and I was so moved, I cried. It has been quite some time since a book made me cry! It’s quite embarrassing when it’s in public.
